MY SWEET ROSIE GIRL

THIS GIANT GIRL SLOWLY MELTED EVERYONE’S HEART

Rosie was found on the side of the road. Obviously, she had been abandoned. We took this sweet giant in until we could find her a good home.

Life instantly changed. We thought Cisco, our Australian Shepherd, was big! We thought Bear, our big Siberian husky, was a good sized dog! You have no idea how big a 150 lb. Newfoundland is! No idea. Everything becomes small, instantly. Your large living room looks like a matchbox. Your kitchen shrinks with her standing in it. Passing in hallways becomes a challenge.

She was a sweet girl, but very lost for such a huge animal. You could actually see the “lost” in her eyes. We didn’t know what to think in the beginning. Would she get along with the other dogs? Did she have an unknown flaw?

No one on this earth is better with dogs than Olivia. I always say, you can judge a person’s heart by the way they get along with and treat dogs (I’m sure other animals, too). Sweet Rosie became Olivia’s personal project. I will always love my Olivia because she is like no other woman. When the rest of us sometimes got frustrated with the sheer size of her, the drooling, getting blasted out of the way when she’s on the move etc. Olivia hung in.

My little Boston Terrier, Buddy, would jump up and want to cuddle, no problem. Ever try cuddling

Oh, how bittersweet! I love those soulful eyes. Bless you for loving her, and am happy she’ll have a great home and large sister, lol.

gene candeloro, in spite of the strong probability that you made the best choice for your Rosie girl, I know how difficult this is. Been there myself as the giver of a rescued dog and the receiver.
How wonderful that you rescued her and provided her…

This dog knows he was saved and will never stop showing his appreciation.

Isn’t it amazing how rescued dogs seem to know you saved them? Their devotion is astounding!
